Hen Parties are just so much more special of you have some beautifully decorated and delicious cocktails to imbibe.
The best news is – they don’t need to be complicated to make or even that expensive, plus, as they can have less alcohol in them, you can drink for longer – and hence enjoy the party for longer!
To add a unique twist to the usual classics here are some gorgeous recipes brought to you by Hen Party Haven at Chichester Self Catering.
Serve them as a pre-party drink before going out for the evening, or begin with these for a stay-at-home party. Put them on a table or tray for serving once everyone is ready (or in advance). This is a thoughtful touch that everyone will love.
Cheers ladies!
Pink Sparkle
This makes just one drink.
- 40ml of pink lemonade
- 110ml champagne, or other sparkling equivalent e.g. Prosecco
- 4 fresh raspberries (or from frozen)
Fill 3/4 of a champagne flute with the pink lemonade. Top up with champagne allowing enough depth for the raspberry garnish.
This can be prepped in advance – pour the lemonade and raspberries to each glass and add the bubbly when your guests arrive. NB make sure both drinks are well chilled in advance.
Apple Star Teaser
Makes 6 drinks. Non-alcoholic.
- 1 litre of cold-pressed apple / raspberry juice (can be found in the chiller cabinet of most supermarkets.)
- 750ml sparkling mineral water
- 1 Pink Lady apple
- White sugar or gold leaf garnish
Fill 3/4 of each glass with the fresh juice. Top up with the sparkling water.
Very thinly slice the apple and using a star-shaped cutter cut our apple stars to decorate.
For extra luxury – add a little gold leaf to the rim of each glass or rim the glass with white sugar before creating the cocktail.
Pink Tequila
Makes 4-6 drinks
- 1 litre of sparkling pink apple or pink grapefruit juice
- 50ml per glass of Tequila
- Ice
- Lime slices to garnish
Fill each glass with a good amount of sparkling juice. Add Tequila.
Top with a handful if ice and garnish.
Strawberry Infused Gin and Tonic
Makes 1 drink.
- 5 hulled strawberries
- 50ml Gin
- 150ml tonic water (I recommend Fever Tree)
Halve three strawberries. Allow to steep in the gin for 2 hours.
Remove the strawberries from the gin and discard (they could go into a Pimms jug!)
Transfer the infused gin to an airtight bottle for later or into a glass.
Add ice and tonic. Halve the remaining 2 strawberries to garnish.
Lychee Squeeze
Makes 1 drink.
- 8 large strawberries (2 for garnish)
- 400 g tinned lychees in juice
- Splash of sparkling mineral water
Hull 6 strawberries and halve.
Use a juicer or blender to puree the lychees (all the tin with juice) with the hulled strawberries.
Strain the juice to remove seeds etc using a fine sieve, then through a cheesecloth so that the juice is clear. (You may need to repeat this a few times)
Pour into your glasses, top up with the sparkling water and garnish with remaining strawberries.
These simple recipes should make your party be the great success that your want and deserve. Have a great time!
