Natures Elements Accommodation
Welcome to the smaller of our properties – Nature’s Elements.
Holiday self catering accommodation with full wheelchair access throughout even out to the South-facing spacious patio.
This will very comfortably sleep 4 people plus an extra 2 on a big sofa bed (Kingsize). It is a totally ground floor flat which was originally the complementary health care clinic (now next door) so has full disabled access everywhere. There is parking for 2 cars outside the flat itself, plus extra in the car park opposite. Please park thoughtfully, especially on clinic days. Thank you. With a half acre of “field” to enjoy and a wide skyscape it really does have a “country-feel” to it.
Nature’s Elements is also a neat but discreet business meeting venue for 8-10 (with sleeping accommodation). You can rent this at the same time as Living Elements, if they are both available and thereby would be able to sleep up to 10. There are an extra 3 double sofa beds between the both properties – two in Living Elements, and one in Nature’s Elements and in addition plus 2 cots, if necessary, but each property is fully self-contained.
Excellent location for small meetings / conferences.
The main living room doubles up as the dining room with a fantastic table which is usually set up for 6 people but can easily seat 10 (or more!). There is a large kingsize sofa bed and TV with additional occasional lighting etc. Flat screen TV/DVD player, some toys and puzzles, tourist information.
The kitchen area is very brightly lit with halogen downlights. There is a huge fridge/freezer, a well stocked selection of cooking pots and pans, bowls etc plus a variety of crockery, glasses, egg cups, mugs and teacups etc. Some with a “Great Britain” theme – because we are! There is a microwave, blenders, scales and a cappuccino/espresso machine, etc to make your cooking over your holiday break a pleasure, and, of course, enough storage space for your food too!
There are 2 bedrooms, both facing SSW so get sunshine much of the day and overlook the large field / garden. They are bright and airy, the larger of which has French doors opening out onto a wheelchair accessible ramp to the garden. The beds can either be twins or super-kingsize! Each room has adequate drawer storage and a hand basin with mirrors and a cabinet next to the basins.
The bathroom suite / dressing room / laundry room is next door to the master bedroom. It has plenty of storage again for extra clothes, bags and shoes and also contains the washing machine, tumble drier, clothes drying racks etc.
The large shower benefits from 2 large handlebars for our less agile guests and only a 15cm step up onto the shower tray and has a downlighter. Next door is a small toilet. There is a shower stool too.
The fully disabled access toilet off the main living room partly doubles up as another storage area too and has a shaver point in it. If you require a high chair during your stay for “smalls”, this is where it is stored plus the cot! Full access disabled toilet and baby changing area at Nature’s Elements.
The garden faces E-S-W so gets direct sunlight most of the day. It is a large field with mature planting towards the end of it but just near to the building is an organic vegetable area too. Large sunny patio with big picnic table!
From the Nature’s Elements you get wonderful views of the wide skyscape and you can see what weather is coming from the predominant wind – SW. The trees in the distance are good indicators!
There is a multitude of birdlife, especially house sparrows in the Escallonia hedge which is over 8 foot high! They may be endangered elsewhere but not here. Mid Summer there may be 50 in the hedge or on the feeders!
They attract others – the sparrow hawk, occasionally a Merlin and Kestrel. Buzzards are regularly seen flying up from the thermals from the greenhouses at the back of the field. We have resident Carrion crows, crows, jackdaws, rooks sometimes, magpies and jays!!! Plus our 4 or so wood pigeons, Collarded doves, pigeons, blackbirds, thrushes etc. We have resident Herring Gulls (2) who daily run on the spot to bring up the earthworms that they love!! but they can be joined by “friends”. Visitations by the pheasant, peacocks ( yes really! incl an albino one!!) various tits, gold-, bull- and green-finches and the green and spotted woodpeckers make up most of the tally. Its a birdies paradise and you don’t have to move to see them! But, as a result…please try not to make too much noise outside all the time – it disturbs the birds natural feeding habits etc.
Needless to say, with all this wildlife – we also have various types of mice and shrews (reduced by a local cat from time-to-time), slow worms and common lizards too! Plus lots of invertebrates and worms – that are eaten by everyone else! A hedgehog bumbles around and you may hear the fox too at night or one of the owls.
Please make the most of the “no lights in the sky” of being out in the countryside on clear nights and marvel at the stars you can see – it really is a wonder! There is a large picnic table for eating outside and some reclining chairs too on the spacious patio, plus a gas BBQ and an outdoor storage box.
We use a few environmentally friendly products to clean the flat and do the washing and washing up. They are made by GNLD (A US Company) and if you require extra please ask Gayle in at the clinic. (They are NOT sold in the shops).
They include: LDC (Light Duty Cleaner) – for washing up, hand washing and delicates in the washing machine or by hand! Super 10 – a heavier duty cleaner – great for all work top surfaces, floors, car cleaning, bathro0ms etc. They are all safe for children as well as being fairly inexpensive. A little goes a long way! G1 and Soft are the products we use for washing clothes – although the G1 can be used in the dishwasher too! Only use a little or the suds go on for ages! They keep the machines clean of grime too. All the appliances are A to A++ rated.
We have PV panels on the roof make electricity and we use air source heating for the water & hot water too. In addition, we recycle and separate rubbish – a lot. You will need to as well please.
Please be aware that there is a therapeutic osteopathic clinic – the Living Elements Clinic that operates Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 8am – 7pm. If you would keep the noise down when outside, Gayle’s patients would be very grateful! Thank you. If you wish to book a treatment for yourself, please make an appointment with her.
Gayle herself lives in the flat above the apartment along with her Standard Poodle, Echo. While she is pretty quiet if you make too much noise you will be asked politely to “keep it down” after 11pm please.
There is free wi-fi for you – details of the code etc is in the House Handbook. Mobile phone reception is poor all over the Manhood Peninsula (we are in the middle of this) but Orange is especially bad. Nothing we can do, sorry. If you need a landline, speak to Gayle.
I hope you enjoy your stay at Nature’s Elements. Its quiet, rural but has all the modern refinements that I think you may need.

Both properties in Sidlesham benefit from nearly half acre gardens! Living Elements garden is behind a yew hedge which we recycle to make cancer treatments! The out-of-bounds greenhouse has an outer door and also a secure mesh one for use during hot days to ventilate. There is a beach garden and sand pit for smaller children. We can put up a trampoline in this garden if required.
Nature’s Elements is South facing and mainly laid to grass. It has a very large trampoline in it!
Palmer’s garden is much smaller and has a netted pond. Please supervise smaller children at all times in this garden. The garden is currently undergoing a makeover so has some uneven levels and pitfalls! Beware.
Green Energy and the Environment
We have photovoltaic panels – PV – (4Kw systems) to help provide power for each of the houses and a bit extra for the grid, at least during the day.
Living Elements also has solar panels to help heat the hot water. Nature’s Elements’ heating and hot water is via an air source pump. Nonetheless, please don’t waste energy. Palmer’s PV panels divert electricity to heat the large water tank during the day too.
We also have an active rubbish sorting and recycling system. Please help us by bringing home your rubbish and disposing of it in the appropriate bin if you have been to the beach etc. Thank you.

We are pet friendly at each property with each having its own T&C’s. There is a small surcharge per pet per stay. They get their own welcome pack too!
