LONDON is only 90 minutes away on the train…so consider Living or Nature’s Elements as an ideal starting location for a day trip to the Big City. Go to Covent Garden, a Museum, see a play etc
There is a handbook in the house with details of What’s On, special events (eg Goodwood Festival of Speed) and other local festivities / activities and day’s out eg village Fairs, one day events during your stay etc to make your holiday more memorable. It also includes cycle routes and local walk information.
Living and Nature’s Elements are a perfect location for a Birdwatching Holiday in Sussex with unique, local reserves and facilities.

What’s On in Sussex
Brighton Marathon – April
The Brighton Marathon is held in April just prior to the London Marathon. Starting and finishing next to The Brighton Pier and the Brighton Wheel the route takes in much of the city centre before heading east to Rottingdean and then west into Hove.
Arundel Festival – August
Arundel’s annual festival is positively full of creative talent with a multitude of writers, actors, musicians, resident artists and many galleries set against the backdrop of magnificent Arundel Castle.

Petworth Festival – July
An arts festival in the historic West Sussex market town that has evolved in to a two to three week summer festival of arts and music. Chichester Festival Theatre

Glyndebourne
Opera has been held annually at Glyndebourne since 1934. It is most famous for its productions of Mozart’s operas, many of those productions are considered the finest ever done of those operas. The London Philharmonic Orchestra has been long associated with Glyndebourne Festival Opera enjoying a rewarding partnership that dates back over 40 years.
Goodwood Festival of Speed – June
The Festival of Speed can justifiably claim to be the world’s biggest and most diverse celebration of the history of motorsport and car culture. It is the only occasion where you will find the greatest competition cars and star drivers from all eras in action from the 19th century steam cars to current Formula 1.
Goodwood Revival Meeting – September
The world’s most popular historic motor race meeting and the only event of its kind to be staged in the romantic time capsule of the fifties and sixties at a classic circuit untouched by the modern world. The Revival relives the glory days of Goodwood Motor Circuit which ranked alongside Silverstone as Britain’s leading venue during its active years between 1948 and 1966.

The Goodwood Breakfast Club offers a jaw-dropping collection of some of the world’s most desirable and cherished vehicles, a scrumptious English breakfast, and the camaraderie of fellow motoring enthusiasts
Racing at Fontwell Park
Considered a “jewel in West Sussex” Fontwell Park is one of the most intimate and friendly racecourses in the country and its unique figure of eight track adds to the excitement of jump racing. There are race meetings throughout the year including midweek, weekend and evening fixtures.
Racing at Goodwood
Goodwood is internationally acclaimed as being one of the most beautiful racecourses in the world. Renowned for its unique elegance and style Goodwood continues to set standards of style and quality for its racegoers. Set on top of the South Downs it is a breathtaking backdrop for some of the very finest flat racing with the highlight being the week of Glorious Goodwood.
Cowdray Park Polo
Cowdray Park is the home of British Polo. It hosts tournaments and fixtures generally from April through to September. It is most famous for hosting the Veuve Clicquot Gold Cup in July each year.
Hickstead
World famous for showjumping, Hickstead is host to the British Grand Prix and the only Nations Cup competition in the British Isles. The British Derby meeting held here remains one of the highlights of the equestrian calendar.
Airbourne – Eastbourne International Airshow – August
The world’s biggest seafront airshow. Four days of action packed flying on Eastbourne seafront every August. It consists of RAF displays, civillian displays, international military displays and static ground displays.
Shoreham Airshow – August
Shoreham Airport is the oldest licensed airfield in the UK with a grade II listed art deco style terminal building. It hosts a two day airshow each year with both civilian and RAF displays.
International Tennis – Eastbourne – June
The international grasscourt tournament held in Devonshire Park in June immediately prior to Wimbledon. Formerly the International Women’s Open it has now joined forces with the ATP tour to host a combined men’s and women’s tournament. The event features world class tennis stars.
Lewes Bonfire Society – November
Lewes bonfire (Guy Fawkes Night) is steeped in history, tradition, a belief in self expression and an undeniable dose of euphoric anarchy. Lewes always celebrates November 5th on November 5th and six of the bonfire societies parade on the night.
The South of England Show – Ardingly Showground – June
The greatest family day out in the south east. Features include entertainment and displays, prize winning British livestock, world class showjumping and equestrian events, foods and farming, flower displays, crafts and much more.
Sussex Steam and Country Fair – Storrington – June
One of the fastest growing outdoor events in the southern counties, Sussex Country Fair retains its family appeal whilst still delivering superb traditional field sports displays and a host of have-a-go activities for all to get involved in. Home to the beautiful Parham Estate, Parham House provides the perfect backdrop in which to showcase this premier fair
